Officers responded to the 600 block of 2nd Street for a report of a disturbance. It was later determined
that one of the parties involved had an active capias for a probation violation. Ashley Clark, 41, of
Bedford, was arrested and transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, where she was held on a secured

While patrolling Longwood Avenue, officers observed a vehicle speeding. A traffic stop was conducted,

November 9th, 2024 – 4:37 PM
Officers responded to the 1000 block of Independence Boulevard regarding a hit and run. The victim,
who was unharmed and not in the vehicle at the time of the crash, provided a description of the
offender and a possible license plate number for the fleeing vehicle. The Patrol Division is investigating.

Officers responded to a gas station on Moneta Road after a caller reported a potentially intoxicated
individual in the store who appeared too impaired to drive. Upon arrival, officers observed behavior
consistent with intoxication. The subject, Justin Haupt, 28, of Bedford, was arrested for public
intoxication and possession of a Schedule I or II substance. He was transported to the magistrate’s

Larceny

November 9th, 2024 – 7:53 PM
Officers responded to the 1500 block of Longwood Avenue in reference to a larceny. The victim, who
works for an organization that traps and spays/neuters cats to help control the local population,
reported that a trap had been stolen. The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #PD24-04722)

November 12th, 2024 – 5:10 PM
Officers responded to the Super 8 Motel regarding a subject in the parking lot who was not wanted on
the property. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a disoriented individual who admitted to drinking.
Christopher Andrews, 45, of Bedford, was arrested for public intoxication and held until sober. (Incident

DUI Arrest

November 13th, 2024 – 5:01 PM
While patrolling the 600 block of Pinecrest Avenue, officers initiated a traffic stop for speeding.
Following a brief investigation, the driver, Antwaun Ash, 49, of Bedford, was arrested for driving under

Shoplifting

November 15th, 2024 – 4:03 PM
Officers responded to Walmart for a larceny report. Asset protection staff had witnessed a subject
failing to scan items at the self-checkout. The suspect, Melissa Thomas, 44, of Bedford, was issued a

Officers observed suspicious driving behavior on Burks Hill Road and initiated a traffic stop. The driver,
Gale Huddleston, 59, of Vinton, was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to the

While patrolling the area of 460 and Harmony Crossing, officers observed suspicious driving behavior. A
check of the vehicle’s license plate revealed the registered owner’s license was suspended. Officers

Officers responded to Walmart in reference to asset protection detaining a female subject for
shoplifting. The suspect, Abby Goard, 22, of Bedford, was issued a summons for petit larceny. (Incident

DUI Arrest
862 Burks Hill Rd
November 23rd, 2024 – 7:43 PM
Officers responded to the 800 block of Burks Hill Road regarding a potentially intoxicated subject. Upon
arrival, officers observed the individual get into a vehicle and start the engine. Christopher Andrews, 45,
of Bedford, was arrested for DUI (2nd offense). He was transported to the magistrate’s office and
granted a secured bond. (Incident #PD24-04770)

Officers responded to the 1800 block of Dean Drive in reference to a possible breaking and entering.
Two subjects were contacted, and suspected narcotics were later found. The Patrol Division is

November 25th, 2024 – 2:52 AM
Officers responded to the 1000 block of Longwood Avenue regarding a burglary that had just occurred.
The victim reported hearing a noise and discovering broken glass in the kitchen. The Detective Bureau is

Shoplifting

Officers responded to Walmart for a shoplifting report. The suspect, Kawania Bannister, 34, of Bedford,
was detained by asset protection, and video footage showed her failing to scan all items in her cart.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Blue Ridge Avenue regarding a disturbance. Following a brief
investigation, Joshua Johnston, 34, of Bedford, was arrested for public intoxication and held until sober.

Officers responded to Walmart for a shoplifting incident. Asset protection had the suspect, Ryan Hall,
38, of Bedford, in their office. Video footage confirmed Hall had failed to scan several items in self-
checkout. Hall was issued a summons for petit larceny. (Incident #PD24-04797)
